Base Salary

$157k - $215k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance to engineering teams, contractors, and vendors.
  • Design, develop, review, and debug secure, high-quality production code.
  • Lead system design and implementation for AWS cloud-native APIs, standalone services, and event-driven components.
  • Influence product design, application functionality, technical operations, and engineering processes.
  • Drive responsible adoption and governance of AI-assisted software development practices.
  • Establish validation standards for AI-assisted workflows and promote reusable engineering automation and patterns.
  • Use SDLC tooling, testing, infrastructure as code, and observability practices to improve reliability and delivery throughput.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and advocate for enterprise engineering frameworks, tools, and practices.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
  • Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability for production services.
  • Advanced proficiency in Java, Python, or Go and strong AWS experience.
  • Experience hosting APIs, running applications, enabling inter-application messaging, and implementing event-driven services on AWS.
  • Experience organizing Terraform workspaces and developing Terraform infrastructure code.
  • Experience designing and developing microservices and backend services.
  • Experience designing backend data models and working with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
  • Experience leading enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools and validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
  • Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows and experience coaching engineers or leads on compliant usage patterns and controls.
  • Ability to independently solve complex design and functionality problems with limited oversight.
  • Preferred experience with Kafka, SNS/SQS, Kinesis, MQ, Docker, containerization, CI/CD pipeline tooling, automated testing frameworks, test-driven development, and modern API design patterns.
