Base Salary

$132k - $150k/yr

Responsibilities

Lead migrations and upgrades for time-series schemas, storage engines, PostgreSQL infrastructure, and TigerData designs.
Develop industrial and third-party data connectors and improve MQTT-based ingestion pipelines.
Build and maintain backend APIs, including transitioning from PostgREST to a GraphQL-based framework.
Design and improve AI interfaces, evaluations, retrieval, trace collection, model fine-tuning, and model training and deployment workflows.
Improve distributed modeling systems, message brokers, orchestration, reproducibility, and multi-stage learning pipelines.
Strengthen cloud infrastructure uptime, observability, deployment reliability, build and release processes, and developer tooling.
Port backend services from bun to Node.js where appropriate and participate in an on-call rotation.
Collaborate with product, modeling, and frontend engineers while driving architecture, migrations, reliability, and scalability.
Travel occasionally to customer sites to understand real-world industrial constraints.

Relevant engineering degree or equivalent professional experience with a strong computer science foundation.
At least 2 years of experience building and operating production backend systems.
Strong proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript for backend development.
Experience with databases, especially PostgreSQL and time-series or analytical data stores.
Familiarity with event-driven systems, streaming data, or message brokers.
Experience designing or supporting AI/ML systems in production is strongly preferred.
Comfort working with infrastructure, data pipelines, and evolving system architectures.
Strong communication and collaboration skills in a high-ownership environment.
Experience in a startup or fast-moving product organization.
Working experience in FinTech, quantitative analysis, and econometrics is greatly preferred.
Willingness to travel occasionally to customer sites.
