Responsibilities
- Migrate device drivers and core operating-system components from Linux upstream or vendor codebases to the company’s kernel and Linux distribution.
- Participate in code reviews for Linux kernel and operating-system component changes.
- Design and develop OS and kernel quality-assurance test systems, OS image-build platforms, and OS deployment and maintenance systems.
- Support operating systems for bare-metal datacenter servers and third-party cloud servers.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for end-user operating-system issues and coordinate resolution across internal teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related major.
- At least 5 years of experience in Linux operating-system development or similar fields.
- Familiarity with computer architecture and the server development lifecycle.
- Proficiency in one or more general-purpose programming languages, including C, C++, Go, Python, or Java.
- Preferred familiarity with Linux/Unix operating-system architecture, Linux kernel mechanisms and programming, systemd, and glibc.
