Responsibilities
- Develop firmware IP subsystems for SSD products to meet performance, endurance, capacity, functionality, quality, and reliability requirements.
- Perform firmware integration, bench testing, debugging, validation, failure triage, root cause analysis, and defect isolation.
- Develop and maintain unit, functional, and integration tests for firmware quality and performance.
- Analyze firmware behavior and implement enhancements that improve performance, latency, power consumption, and SoC complexity.
- Collaborate with hardware, validation, system, and product engineering teams to resolve development issues and improve product readiness.
- Provide technical updates and project status reports to management and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians through technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and problem-solving support.
- Use AI-assisted tools responsibly to improve efficiency, quality, and effectiveness.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent field.
- Over three years of relevant experience in firmware or embedded systems development using C.
- Experience with embedded firmware development using C and other high-level programming languages such as Python.
- Experience with firmware debugging, issue isolation, code analysis, root cause investigation, validation, design, implementation, and maintenance.
- Experience with low-level software development, including assembly language programming.
- Preferred experience with Python programming and automation.
- Preferred experience with PCIe and NVMe storage interfaces.
- Preferred experience with SSD products, storage systems, NAND flash memory, or other non-volatile storage technologies.
- Ability to communicate clearly, collaborate cross-functionally, work independently, manage technical priorities, and provide technical leadership.
