Responsibilities
- Develop C++ and Python software over evolving hardware, including during chip bring-up, board design, and broader hardware development.
- Build on and modify existing drivers, software frameworks, source code, and mature components to deliver new functionality.
- Design software architectures and deliver functionality milestones on timelines of days or weeks.
- Create risk-based code review and CI/CD workflows suited to rapid iteration while maintaining system stability.
- Collaborate with Systems and Physical AI organizations and other stakeholders outside the software organization.
- Own and support prototypes through the production process and hand successful prototypes to production software teams.
- Translate research and systems concepts into high-performance embedded code, modular implementations, and technical documentation.
- Use AI-assisted coding and simulation tools to accelerate boilerplate generation and early validation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related technical field.
- At least 2 years of professional industry experience or 5 years of high-impact applied research focused on tangible hardware-software integration.
- Advanced proficiency in Python and C/C++.
- Proven rapid prototyping and cross-functional collaboration experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Preferred qualifications include an MS or PhD, 5+ years of embedded-systems software development, embedded Linux, chip and board bring-up, RTOS, hardware debugging tools, schematics and datasheets, HIL testing, automated firmware validation, and machine-learning model deployment to resource-constrained edge devices.
- Preferred backgrounds include electrical engineering, systems, optics, or laser-based sensing, along with experience translating academic or R&D concepts into real-world prototypes.
