Responsibilities
- Translate product and stakeholder needs into product designs, technical specifications, prototypes, and implementation plans.
- Develop, test, deploy, and support production code for People Tech applications and services.
- Design scalable middleware, APIs, services, integrations, workflow automation, reporting systems, and AI-enabled experiences.
- Build integrations across Slack, Workday, Jira, Confluence, internal People data services, and other enterprise platforms.
- Review and approve pull requests, technical design documents, and test plans.
- Lead technical design for complex or cross-system initiatives and make pragmatic architecture decisions.
- Apply practices for availability, scalability, operational excellence, maintainability, cost management, and production support.
- Collaborate with Product, People, HR Technology, IT, Security, Legal, Finance, and Engineering teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent years of experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in software engineering, application development, backend services, enterprise integrations, or related technical roles.
- Experience with Node.js, TypeScript, SQL, APIs, and cloud-based application development.
- Experience with backend services or distributed systems, database design, data modeling, event-driven architectures, message queues, pub/sub systems, and asynchronous processing.
- Experience designing RESTful APIs, webhooks, middleware, and integrations across multiple systems.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and deploying services to cloud environments.
- Experience with Workday integrations, automations, and People data workflows.
- Experience reviewing production code, technical designs, and test plans and translating ambiguous requirements into implementation plans.
- Ability to contribute directly to production code while managing team delivery and working independently in an immature infrastructure environment.
- Preferred qualifications include 6+ years of relevant experience, People Tech or HR Technology experience, Workday or enterprise platform experience, and experience with Spanner and GCP.
