Responsibilities
- Design and operate high-throughput event-driven pipelines across a 100+ microservice ecosystem handling billions of data points.
- Build and scale RabbitMQ-based distributed messaging systems with backpressure management, consumer scaling, and queue-health monitoring.
- Develop API gateway layers with advanced routing and architect enterprise SSO and identity federation.
- Optimize PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch for high-scale write workloads, search, indexing, and real-time Arabic relevance.
- Diagnose production issues, own incidents end to end, lead root-cause analysis, and implement preventative measures.
- Build observability, internal tooling, deployment gates, review enforcement, and enforceable architectural standards.
- Drive platform decoupling, contribute to Kubernetes migration and infrastructure modernization, and improve CI/CD pipelines.
Requirements
- Strong foundation in distributed systems, including failure modes, concurrency, backpressure, and fault tolerance.
- Hands-on production experience with event-driven architecture and message queues.
- A track record of debugging complex production issues and preventing recurring failures.
- Experience with Ruby on Rails or Python backends at meaningful scale.
- Ability to understand an existing codebase quickly, make data-backed architecture decisions, and improve systems proactively.
- Experience rebuilding or stabilizing a significant system and communicating the work concretely.
- Commitment to documentation, testing, observability, speed, quality, and extreme ownership.
