Responsibilities
- Improve analytics bucket capabilities and storage for open file formats such as Iceberg and DuckLake.
- Optimize assets and build edge-network capabilities to accelerate delivery and uploads, including automatic cache invalidation.
- Improve the performance, observability, and reliability of the storage server.
- Work with the frontend team to build a fast storage explorer.
- Improve APIs, client libraries, and CLI tooling for end-to-end developer experience.
- Contribute to the open-source storage server and upstream dependencies such as the TUS server.
- Resolve escalated support issues and identify systemic platform issues.
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience running Node.js in production.
- Experience with highly scalable distributed systems.
- Comfort working across backend application development and infrastructure deployment, monitoring, and scaling.
- Familiarity with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, and performance tuning.
- Production-grade PostgreSQL experience, including tuning and troubleshooting.
- Ability to drive projects end to end with strong ownership and empathy for developer experience.
- Preferred qualifications include developer-tools experience, cloud infrastructure and containerization knowledge, large-scale file upload/download pipeline experience, CDN integration and optimization expertise, image and video processing experience, and frontend ecosystem experience.
