Responsibilities
- Design, develop, integrate, and sustain embedded command-and-control software for CSE and Liberator deployed systems.
- Build, configure, harden, and maintain embedded Linux images on ARM and single-board-computer platforms.
- Implement signed boot, chain of trust, TPM2, U-Boot, keys and OTP, measured boot, and LUKS disk encryption capabilities.
- Develop Python services and automation for networked applications, messaging, concurrency, and protocol handling.
- Contribute C/C++ firmware for microcontroller-class platforms.
- Bring up and debug hardware-in-the-loop and bench environments using serial interfaces, GPIO, digital I/O, wiring diagrams, and board-level electrical interfaces.
- Configure deployed Linux systems, including networking, firewall rules, systemd services, time synchronization, logging, and provisioning workflows.
- Develop and execute test procedures, investigate defects, and produce verification evidence for integration and release readiness.
- Improve embedded development, integration, and test workflows through CI/CD automation and responsible use of agentic AI development tools.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and at least four years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree and at least two years of related experience.
- Eight years of prior related experience may substitute for a degree.
- Embedded Linux experience on ARM or single-board platforms, including image builds, hardening, provisioning, and administration.
- Experience with secure boot and platform security, including TPM2, U-Boot, keys/OTP, measured boot, and LUKS.
- Python network services and automation experience, plus C/C++ embedded firmware development.
- Experience with hardware/software integration, hardware-in-the-loop bring-up, test execution, verification, and serial, GPIO, or digital I/O debugging.
- Experience with safety-, mission-, or fault-tolerant control systems, microcontroller or PLC platforms, or reliable transport and protocol design for low-bandwidth acoustic or RF communications is preferred.
- Defense cybersecurity experience, including DISA STIGs, ATO support, or TS/SCI eligibility, is preferred.
- Marine, subsea, harsh-environment, or power-constrained systems experience is preferred.
- Must possess or be able to obtain TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly.
