Base Salary
$220k - $285k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor engineers while stewarding engineering best practices.
- Own systemic, cross-service problems from problem definition through design, implementation, and rollout.
- Design, build, and harden identity and access management capabilities, including authentication, authorization, RBAC, and OAuth/OIDC flows.
- Strengthen AWS and cloud infrastructure through improved security posture, configuration, and operational guardrails.
- Improve database performance, security, and optimization across high-volume transactional systems.
- Harden APIs, services, and distributed systems against failure and abuse.
- Drive production reliability by leading incident remediation, closing root causes, and building observability.
- Partner with the Security/CISO team to translate identified gaps into durable engineering solutions.
- Build and scale secure, performant, customer-centric services and user-facing web applications.
Requirements
- 6+ years of software engineering experience building precise and scalable distributed systems.
- Primarily backend engineering experience with comfort working across the stack.
- A track record of shipping meaningful work in security, scale, or infrastructure rather than only reviewing work.
- Strong Java and AWS experience, with the ability to learn modern technology stacks quickly.
- Experience with Java, Spring Boot, AWS, Postgres, and Kubernetes is relevant to the role.
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science or a similar Engineering or Mathematics degree is ideally preferred.
- Fintech, payments, or experience in security-sensitive and highly regulated environments is a plus.
- Demonstrated ownership, communication, resilience, assurance, and creative problem-solving ability.
