Base Salary

$127k - $249k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a scalable, secure Kubernetes-based runtime environment supporting MongoDB product needs.
  • Provide internal support for the Kubernetes ecosystem and help engineering teams solve domain-specific infrastructure problems.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to resolve critical production issues.
  • Conduct blameless post-mortems and implement systemic fixes to prevent recurring incidents.
  • Build software and automation that eliminate operational toil and reduce manual processes.

Requirements

  • Have 6+ years of experience in software development and operating distributed systems.
  • Be proficient in Go, Python, or a similar programming language, with experience writing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
  • Have deep experience using and extending containerization technologies, preferably Kubernetes.
  • Understand Linux operating system internals and networking concepts including filesystems, TCP/IP, DNS, and TLS.
  • Demonstrate operational ownership, including debugging complex production issues and driving them to resolution.
  • Strong candidates may also have experience designing secure multi-tenant runtime environments, Kubernetes ecosystem tools, cloud infrastructure, and infrastructure provisioning technologies.
