Base Salary
$126k - $197k/yr
Responsibilities
- Drive the architecture and technical direction of scalable, resilient Java/Spring Boot or Quarkus microservices.
- Design trade order lifecycle and orchestration logic, including broker connectivity and accurate trade allocations.
- Architect event-driven systems and scalable data solutions on AWS using Kafka.
- Scale inbound and outbound integrations through FIX, REST, and file-based interfaces.
- Mentor engineering teams and improve engineering and Agile SDLC standards.
- Partner with product, design, and other cross-functional leaders to translate business requirements into technical roadmaps.
- Lead technical initiatives and promote developer productivity, automation, and AI-assisted development tools.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of experience architecting and building complex backend distributed systems at scale.
- Expertise in Java, Spring Boot, JVM tuning, and concurrency; Quarkus experience is a plus.
- Advanced experience with AWS cloud-native architectures and messaging platforms such as Kafka.
- Experience with databases, SQL, NoSQL, and data architectures.
- Strong technical leadership, ownership, communication, and cross-team collaboration skills.
- Preferred experience in trading or financial services.
- Preferred practical knowledge of the FIX protocol.
- Familiarity with React is preferred for supporting UI-related backend requirements.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship and authorized to begin work in the U.S. on the first day.
