Responsibilities
- Collaborate directly with investment teams, traders, and portfolio managers to bridge business and technical communication.
- Develop, deploy, review, and debug secure, high-quality production code.
- Contribute to an agile team that regularly deploys software updates and adapts to changing business needs and scale.
- Influence product design, application functionality, technical operations, and engineering process decisions.
- Provide technical guidance to business and technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
- Serve as a function-wide subject matter expert and contribute to the engineering community through firmwide frameworks, tools, and software development practices.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 5 years of applied experience.
- Strong programming experience in Core Java.
- Experience implementing TDD and BDD techniques and using mocking frameworks for testing.
- Understanding of Java IoC frameworks such as Spring.
- Understanding of messaging and streaming technologies such as Kafka, IBM MQ, Solace, or Ignite.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles including application resiliency and security.
- Knowledge of software applications and technical processes in areas such as cloud, artificial intelligence, or machine learning.
- Preferred exposure to trading, FIX engines or related technologies, smart contracts, Ethereum, digital wallets, cloud technologies, cloud certification, and Python.
