Base Salary
$250k - $295k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, train, and deploy multimodal machine learning systems combining physical, spatial, simulation, tabular, text, and business-context data.
- Own ML projects end to end from problem definition and prototyping through production deployment, adoption, and performance monitoring.
- Build agent frameworks and multi-step workflows that make tool calls into Stand’s world-modeling stack.
- Develop retrieval, embedding, vector similarity, training-data, evaluation, and production-monitoring capabilities.
- Create rigorous evaluation frameworks that compare model judgments with real business outcomes.
- Extend scalable ML infrastructure and partner with the Platform team on model-harness interfaces.
- Communicate technical decisions, tradeoffs, and project status while aligning cross-functional stakeholders.
Requirements
- Deep hands-on experience designing and training multimodal models that fuse heterogeneous data such as 3D or vision inputs, simulation outputs, tabular data, and text, with strong VLM exposure.
- Experience building and post-training multi-step LLM agents that call external tools and interact with environments, including evaluating trajectories against judgment and user constraints.
- Demonstrated experience taking comparable models to production through scalable training, evaluation, deployment, and iteration on live systems.
- Experience applying machine learning to complex physical systems such as atmospheric, molecular, protein, robotics, or fluid-dynamics modeling.
- Strong ownership of complex technical projects, including planning, prioritization, execution, and delivery.
- Ability to work across disciplines and connect technical development with business objectives.
- Strong concise communication, judgment, self-motivation, proactivity, and adaptability in a fast-paced ambiguous environment.
- Preferred experience with embodied AI and 3D-environment navigation.
- Preferred experience with retrieval and embedding systems, vector search, latent-space similarity, geometric deep learning, point clouds, meshes, and spatial architectures.
- Preferred familiarity with physics-informed AI, surrogate modeling, geospatial or remote-sensing datasets, and Earth observation data.
- Preferred experience in startups or zero-to-one technology development.
