Responsibilities
- Own backend systems that rank and serve personalized content to users.
- Implement backend changes across services and ensure architectural coherence.
- Integrate with ML serving infrastructure and collaborate with ML engineers.
- Make product-informed backend decisions to enhance user engagement.
- Design patterns, tests, and guardrails for consistent and safe code.
- Run and analyze A/B experiments to inform feature rollouts.
- Ensure production reliability, including monitoring and incident response.
Requirements
- Experience in building and operating backend services in Java or a JVM language.
- Ability to think in systems and reason about service contracts and architectural tradeoffs.
- Fluency with AI-assisted development tools and workflows.
- Product-oriented mindset with an understanding of user engagement.
- Experience in system design with a focus on latency, reliability, and scalability.
- Comfortable with production ownership, including on-call responsibilities.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity in AI-native workflows.
