Responsibilities
- Build, enhance, refactor, and support batch and streaming data pipelines on the lakehouse and AI data platform.
- Develop raw, refined, and curated datasets for analytics, reporting, and AI use cases.
- Apply data modelling principles for business entities, relationships, historical change, schema evolution, partitioning, clustering, and performance optimisation.
- Implement data quality controls, reconciliation processes, testing, monitoring, and root-cause analysis for production data outputs.
- Collaborate with engineers, platform teams, and data consumers to deliver reliable, documented, and usable data products.
- Communicate progress, risks, dependencies, and design decisions while supporting production-ready and operationally maintainable solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent practical experience, with strong quantitative skills or data engineering expertise.
- Strong hands-on programming experience in Python or Java and good working knowledge of SQL.
- Experience building or supporting production data pipelines in a collaborative engineering environment.
- Experience with distributed data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark.
- Knowledge of temporal data modelling, schema design and evolution, data compatibility, partitioning, clustering, normalised and denormalised models, and natural and surrogate keys.
- Practical understanding of data quality, reconciliation, troubleshooting, optimisation, and root-cause analysis.
- Working knowledge of JSON, Avro, and Parquet data formats.
- Familiarity with software engineering fundamentals including version control, testing, release discipline, and CI/CD practices.
- Ability to learn new tools, internal platforms, and delivery workflows quickly; stronger candidates may contribute to technical design, platform standards, and delivery approaches.
