Responsibilities
- Develop and design innovative solutions for scaling Reddit.
- Build platform API projects that can scale across the organization.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers on the team.
- Build, deliver, and operate services handling hundreds of thousands of transactions per second with five-nines-plus availability.
- Optimize Reddit’s media experience and platform performance for users worldwide.
- Help develop a roadmap aligned with the needs of Reddit’s growing engineering organization.
Requirements
- Software development experience in Golang or Python.
- At least 5 years of experience with large-scale, mission-critical distributed systems.
- Familiarity with API platform service architectures.
- Experience building clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
- Media delivery expertise spanning backend systems through the user experience, including media performance, scalability, and delivery optimization.
- Ability to communicate complex topics effectively with technical and non-technical audiences and collaborate in a fully remote environment.
