Responsibilities
- Support delivery quality within an Agile team and collaborate with product, design, development, and testing disciplines.
- Perform functional, regression, ETL, data validation, performance, and scalability testing for data platforms, pipelines, and Snowflake queries.
- Create test plans, test cases, test scenarios, automated workflows, and data testing pipelines.
- Write SQL queries for data validation and analyze test results.
- Investigate, document, report, and retest defects through closure using Rally and Jira.
- Maintain test documentation, data testing solution documentation, and process documentation.
- Use the Xray plugin in Jira to manage test cases, plans, and defects.
- Troubleshoot complex technical problems and provide actionable recommendations and status reports.
- Manage testing projects from requirements gathering through final reporting.
- Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, escalations, and project progress management.
- Acquire and apply data testing practices involving Cortex Code in Snowflake, Streamlit, dbt, and related AI frameworks.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience as a data testing analyst working with Snowflake, dbt, Streamlit, Astronomer, and related data or ETL testing frameworks.
- At least 3 years of software testing experience focused on functional data and ETL testing, including functional and regression testing and test documentation.
- At least 2 years of experience writing SQL queries for data validation testing.
- Strong knowledge of Snowflake, AWS, multi-cloud environments, cloud-based databases, advanced database management systems, data warehousing, and data lakes.
- Experience with DataStage or Informatica for ETL testing and data validation.
- Experience testing AWS services such as S3, EC2, and Lambda.
- Experience building automated scripts or workflows with data testing frameworks such as Robot or Great Expectations.
- Experience validating AI/ML models for accuracy, precision, and performance metrics is desirable.
- Experience with performance and scalability testing for data pipelines, Snowflake queries, and Airflow pipelines is desirable.
- Knowledge of API validation tools and Python for data automation testing is desirable.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, problem-solving, collaboration, documentation, and prioritization skills.
- Fluent written and spoken English and the ability to work with geographically distributed virtual teams.
