Base Salary

$67k - $102k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Write and test software integrating sensors and embedded processors into aircraft, payloads, software-defined radios, and robotic systems.
  • Design and implement prototype and production software while maintaining configuration control and software quality.
  • Develop system requirements, test plans, diagnostic tools, validation tests, proof-of-concept demonstrations, and design-review materials.
  • Analyze and improve software efficiency, stability, scalability, and capabilities using existing code bases.
  • Assist with hardware selection and recommend system processing, memory, and storage requirements.
  • Support rapid prototyping, conceptual testing, flight testing, production transition, and certification activities.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and project or program management to scope work and meet schedule and budget constraints.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience and experience troubleshooting systems.
  • Proficiency with Python, C, C++11, C++ STL, and/or OpenCL.
  • Knowledge of Visual Studio, Eclipse, or a similar integrated development environment and defect-tracking tools.
  • Experience with RS-485, RS-232, CAN, I2C, SPI, and USB protocols.
  • Demonstrated mathematical, analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Preferred experience includes STM32 processors, µC/OS, FreeRTOS, Video4Linux, Ubuntu Linux kernel modification and compilation, Linux/ARM driver development, ROS, basic electronics, and laboratory equipment.
  • Must be able to work under moderate supervision, learn continuously, collaborate in small multidisciplinary teams, and periodically travel to approved equipment-testing and flying locations.
  • Applicants must meet applicable ITAR/EAR requirements as a U.S. person or be eligible for approval of an export license; some positions may require current U.S. citizenship.
