Base Salary
$225k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead development of core features in Scribe’s Django monolith, including viewing and editing Scribes, pages, embeds, exports, and related integrations.
- Optimize database queries, endpoints, and caching layers for performance and scalability.
- Collaborate with product and design to deliver reliable editing and rendering experiences at scale.
- Make architectural decisions about extending the monolith versus extracting services for high-scale systems.
- Provide code reviews, mentorship, and leadership in testing, observability, performance, and engineering practices.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience building backend applications at high scale and availability.
- Extensive experience with Python.
- Experience optimizing endpoint performance and database queries.
- Strong advocacy for automated testing.
- Ability to implement engineering best practices.
- User-centric, empathetic, and passionate approach to the work.
- Django experience is preferred.
- Startup experience is preferred.
