Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate high-throughput backend services for insurance and fintech products.
- Lead and contribute to complex cross-team initiatives involving pricing, checkout, booking, servicing, and other systems.
- Develop scalable APIs, pricing engines, and data models for dynamic and synthetic products.
- Contribute to zero-to-one product launches and iterate on products after launch across brands and markets.
- Write clean, maintainable, testable code focused on performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in distributed, high-scale systems.
- Use AI-assisted development tools such as Copilot and Claude.
- Participate in an on-call rotation approximately once per quarter.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent related professional experience.
- At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong experience building backend services and APIs in distributed systems.
- Experience designing scalable, highly available platforms.
- Proficiency in Kotlin or Java.
- Experience working in cloud-based environments.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows or AI/ML-enabled systems.
- Preferred experience in FinTech, InsurTech, or pricing and financial systems at scale.
- Preferred experience contributing to zero-to-one products or major feature launches.
- Preferred experience with cross-domain systems and extensive upstream and downstream dependencies.
- Preferred understanding of pricing strategies, risk systems, or transactional platforms.
- Ability to contribute to frontend development when needed.
