Responsibilities
- Design and implement cloud networking features across control-plane and data-plane systems from conception through production delivery.
- Build and troubleshoot multi-cloud network topologies, including VPC/VNet segmentation, routing tables, cloud gateways, NAT gateways, security groups, and cloud-native connectivity models across AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI.
- Implement and troubleshoot BGP, policy-based routing, IPSec/VPN configurations, IKEv1/IKEv2, and SNAT/DNAT systems.
- Write production-grade Python and/or Go for networking services, agents, and tooling, including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
- Debug networking issues across lab, staging, and production using tcpdump, Wireshark, cloud diagnostics, and IPSec tools.
- Improve telemetry, logging, alerting, operational visibility, and reliability for networking and VPN systems.
- Participate in architecture discussions, code and design reviews, mentorship, and documentation of runbooks and designs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Networking, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of professional engineering experience building networking-intensive systems at a networking company, cloud infrastructure provider, or equivalent organization.
- Hands-on experience with at least one of cloud networking, routing protocols, IPSec/VPN technologies, or network security product development.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, ARP, ICMP, DNS, subnetting, CIDR, routing protocols, IPSec/IKEv2 tunneling, VPN architectures, NAT, and firewall concepts.
- Proficiency in Python and/or Go and familiarity with Linux networking tools and shell scripting.
- Experience with Git and CI/CD workflows and the ability to methodically debug complex networking issues.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to independently own features from design through production delivery.
- Preferred experience with transit gateways, peering, private link/endpoints, load balancers, Kubernetes networking, CNI plugins, service mesh technologies, network policies, Terraform, Ansible, cloud-native APIs, and distributed-systems concepts applied to networking.
