Base Salary
$207k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Drive innovation by creating requirements and designs for networking products, process improvements, performance improvements, and cost reductions across organizational boundaries.
- Lead development of software that improves the velocity, performance, safety, transparency, and manageability of Google network systems.
- Define and lead testing strategy, including unit and component testing frameworks using network emulation tools.
- Build software interfaces for global software-defined networking controllers and translate network intent into device configurations using gRIBI, gNMI, and RPCs.
- Evaluate network system inefficiencies and propose improvements in software, architecture, and processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Eight years of experience programming in C++, Java, Python, Kotlin, or Go.
- Five years of experience testing and launching software products.
- Five years of experience with software design and architecture.
- Experience integrating generative AI tools or LLM interfaces into workflows.
- Preferred: Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Preferred: eight years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- Preferred: three years of experience in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional or cross-business projects.
