Responsibilities
- Identify and resolve ambiguous cross-cutting technical problems across payment protocols, edge AI, and trust infrastructure.
- Set technical direction and drive architectural evolution as concepts mature into shipped products.
- Make foundational architecture decisions while enabling fast, reversible experimentation where appropriate.
- Own the strategic viability and defensibility of customer-facing deliverables.
- Represent technical strategy to senior leadership, business development, Legal/Compliance, and product leadership.
- Design and institutionalize structured experiments using flags, hypotheses, success metrics, and kill criteria.
- Mentor engineers and influence cross-functional and distributed teams across time zones.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience developing systems or software for large business environments, including 7+ years designing complex distributed systems or platforms.
- Track record setting technical direction for a sizable organization and driving architectural evolution across complex interdependent efforts.
- Deep fluency with AI-native architecture and agent orchestration at the systems level.
- Strong judgment on durable architectural bets, experimentation, and premature optimization.
- Substantive expertise across agentic money domains such as payments/settlement, edge AI, and identity/trust.
- Working fluency with Java, Python, and JavaScript/TypeScript for architectural standards across polyglot teams.
- Fluency with Kubernetes-based runtime architecture, including AWS EKS.
- Experience designing and running A/B, canary, or flagged-rollout experiments.
- Strong executive-level communication, mentoring, independent decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred qualifications include shaping industry standards, building a technical organization from near-zero headcount, and spanning cloud-side agentic infrastructure with edge/on-device AI systems.
