Responsibilities
- Design, build, operate, and support scalable backend services and platforms.
- Lead delivery of software projects from feature design through ongoing support.
- Review peer code and contribute to system design, testing, code quality, and maintainability.
- Facilitate engineering discussions and advocate for standard methodologies.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership beyond the immediate team.
- Partner with product, data, infrastructure, and multiple engineering teams to deliver shared infrastructure.
- Improve system performance, resiliency, observability, and operational excellence.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software development experience with Java, Python, NodeJS, and Go for APIs and services.
- Experience with relational and non-relational database strategies.
- Strong proficiency in Python and willingness to work across the stack.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, including S3, EC2, IAM, and EKS.
- Solid fundamentals in distributed systems, API design, observability, and operational excellence.
- Recognized technical leadership and impact beyond the immediate team.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Spanish.
- Authorization to work in Mexico.
- Ability to work with modern technologies for designing, delivering, debugging, and maintaining frontend and backend systems.
