Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy SKILL, Python, and TCL automation scripts within Cadence Allegro and OrCAD for schematic capture and board routing.
- Create automated bridges between electronic CAD and mechanical CAD workflows to synchronize EV packaging constraints and board outlines.
- Build tools to generate, verify, and update PCB footprint and schematic symbol libraries using Rivian’s Product Lifecycle Management database.
- Program custom Design Rule Checks for high-voltage and high-speed signal integrity requirements.
- Package automation tools into user-friendly interfaces, write technical documentation, and train hardware engineering users.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree at an accredited university in computer science, electrical engineering, mechatronics, or a related field.
- Strong programming fundamentals with proficiency in Python, TCL, or C++ and the ability to learn Cadence SKILL.
- Foundational knowledge of schematic capture and PCB layout, ideally through academic or project experience with Cadence OrCAD, Allegro, or similar ECAD platforms.
- Understanding of component lifecycle management, basic signal integrity, and standard manufacturing constraints.
- Personal projects or coursework involving software automation, API integration, or streamlining repetitive technical workflows.
