  • Develop image and 3D-scan matching methods to compare physical parts with their source CAD models.
  • Prototype camera monitoring for CNC machines and 3D printers to identify setup errors, collisions, and failing prints.
  • Deploy and maintain networked camera systems, including image capture, storage, and camera-to-model pipelines.
  • Build training-data generation and augmentation tools, including synthetic CAD-rendered images and automated capture rigs.
  • Measure model performance on real laboratory data and communicate results to the team.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or holding a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related field.
  • Computer vision or deep learning experience through coursework, research, or projects, including detection, segmentation, anomaly detection, or pose estimation.
  • Programming experience in Python with a deep learning framework such as PyTorch.
  • Experience with image-processing libraries such as OpenCV.
  • Intent to return to a degree program after the internship.
