Responsibilities
- Develop highly scalable classifiers and tools using machine learning, regression, and rules-based models.
- Suggest, collect, and synthesize requirements and create feature roadmaps.
- Code deliverables in collaboration with the engineering team.
- Adapt machine learning methods for distributed clusters, multicore SMP systems, and GPUs.
- Perform team-specific responsibilities based on placement and interests.
Requirements
- Currently hold or be pursuing a PhD in Computer Science, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, or a related field.
- Have relevant research or work experience in areas such as machine learning, deep learning, reinforcement learning, NLP, recommendation systems, pattern recognition, signal processing, data mining, artificial intelligence, or computer vision.
- Have experience with systems software or algorithms.
- Have coding experience in Java, C, C++, Perl, PHP, or Python.
- Have experience collaborating across groups and cultures.
- Obtain and maintain work authorization in the country of employment.
- Preferred: intend to return to the degree program after the internship or co-op.
- Preferred: demonstrate software engineering experience through an internship, work experience, coding competitions, or PhD papers.
- Preferred: demonstrate significant results through grants, fellowships, patents, or first-authored publications at leading workshops or conferences.
- Preferred: have experience with Hadoop, HBase, Pig, MapReduce, Sawzall, or Bigtable.
Benefits
