Base Salary
$101k - $167k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build server-side Java components and web services supporting user experiences and geospatial workflows.
- Prototype, design, develop, and deliver scalable, fault-tolerant software features and products.
- Design and architect features and products to meet customer requirements.
- Find, analyze, and fix bugs and performance problems.
- Collaborate with other teams to understand requirements and incorporate them into the software.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience developing middleware software components with core Java, Servlets, and JSP.
- Understanding of AWS, Azure, Amazon S3, Amazon SQS, Amazon EC2, Azure Blob Service, and Azure Table Service.
- Understanding of Java design patterns and relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or DB2.
- Experience working with large code bases and fundamental knowledge of REST and SOAP web services.
- Proficiency with debugging and profiling tools including Eclipse or IntelliJ Debugger and JProfiler.
- Knowledge of source control systems, preferably Git.
- Strong problem-solving, design, development, debugging, written communication, verbal communication, and time-management skills.
- Bachelor's degree in mathematics, computer science, physics, or a related field.
- Preferred qualifications include a relevant master's degree, familiarity with JSON and XML, Maven and Ant, Fiddler, JProfiler, jmap, Docker, and Kubernetes.
