Responsibilities
- Own medium-scale features and components end to end, from prototypes through production-ready solutions.
- Build practical AI-powered and conventional applications that solve business and client problems.
- Develop LLM workflows using prompt engineering, tool use, structured outputs, RAG, retrieval pipelines, and agent patterns.
- Build and maintain evaluation harnesses and contribute to reliable, responsible, and cost-efficient AI solutions.
- Create reusable components, tools, and patterns for the wider Innovation team.
- Contribute to technical design discussions, experimentation, hackathons, and the broader technology community.
- Collaborate with Dublin and international Innovation teams and business stakeholders.
- Support technical quality and junior colleague development through code reviews and pairing.
Requirements
- Typically 2–5 years of software engineering experience with a record of independently delivering features.
- Experience contributing to production-grade applications.
- Hands-on JavaScript and TypeScript development with a framework such as React, Vue, or Angular.
- Backend experience with Node.js, NestJS, or similar technologies.
- Experience using Python to build AI-powered workflows, integrations, or applications.
- Understanding of integrating AI into products and business processes through APIs.
- Hands-on experience with LLMs, including prompt design, tool use, and structured outputs.
- Familiarity with RAG, retrieval pipelines, and embeddings.
- Exposure to modern agent patterns and multi-step, tool-connected workflows.
- Working knowledge of AWS and Kubernetes.
- Preferred experience taking features from experimentation through production use.
- Preferred curiosity about agent ecosystem standards such as Model Context Protocol.
- Preferred exposure to vector databases, semantic search, AI evaluation frameworks, testing approaches, and AI guardrails.
- Good communication, practical problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration, and willingness to support others.
