Responsibilities
- Drive backend architectural decisions for the core platform backbone.
- Lead complex third-party vendor API orchestration and integration.
- Design robust synchronous and asynchronous event-driven API structures that comply with regulatory requirements.
- Develop, maintain, and deploy quality Java or Kotlin software.
- Collaborate with distributed engineering and product teams across multiple countries.
- Participate in product feature definition, workshops, and communication of technical work.
- Own workstreams, track progress, and communicate progress toward team goals.
- Improve processes, designs, and engineering practices.
- Support software changes through production and verify that they continue to work well.
Requirements
- Strong coding fundamentals in Java and Kotlin.
- Advanced database modeling and migration experience.
- Experience with event-driven architecture.
- Experience delivering high-quality software using established best practices and lifecycle quality mechanisms.
- Experience working in an Agile environment, including Scrum or Kanban.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively on complex problems.
- Critical thinking, communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in distributed cross-functional teams.
- Ability to influence customers and team members at the project level and manage personal work effectively.
- Confident intermediate English or higher.
