Responsibilities

  • Create and deliver high-quality designs, roadmaps, and program charters with engineering teams.
  • Define and implement non-functional requirements, availability targets, service-level indicators, and service-level objectives.
  • Design and implement observability and reliability solutions for complex systems while reducing toil and technical debt.
  • Drive debugging and evolution of critical components by analyzing application and platform interdependencies.
  • Use and promote validated, auditable, secure AI-assisted workflows for incident analysis, production readiness, testing, and operational decision-making.
  • Provide tools, guidance, and solutions supporting enterprise growth and reliability adoption.
  • Mentor technologists, establish safe AI usage practices, and serve as a site reliability adoption champion.
  • Contribute to SRE communities of practice, internal forums, guilds, and conferences.
  • Lead vendor evaluation sessions and communicate data-based solutions through complex reporting and visualization.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in site reliability engineering concepts and at least 5 years of applied experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of SRE principles, observability, monitoring, service-level objectives, alerting, and telemetry collection.
  • Expert proficiency in Java, Go, Python, and Terraform for enterprise applications, automation, high-performance systems, and infrastructure as code.
  • Experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to improve reliability workflows, with strong validation practices and awareness of data sensitivity.
  • Ability to establish team practices for safe AI use while maintaining resilience, security, and auditability.
  • Advanced knowledge of distributed systems, microservices architecture, software applications, technical processes, and cloud-native technologies.
  • Hands-on experience building AI agents and autonomous systems using LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, and CrewAI, along with AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude.
  • Expertise designing logging pipelines, metrics systems, and distributed tracing using technologies such as Fluentd, Logstash, and Vector.
  • Experience building production-grade RESTful APIs and message queue architectures with Kafka, RabbitMQ, and SQS.
  • Expertise with graph databases, vector databases, and multiple data stores for AI-powered systems.
  • Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and GitOps workflows.
  • Ability to mentor and educate others, troubleshoot defects found during testing, contribute to engineering communities, and evaluate vendor offerings.
  • Preferred experience with MCP servers, LLM integration, prompt engineering, and retrieval-augmented generation.
  • Preferred familiarity with AI/ML model building, deployment, and lifecycle management using TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
  • Preferred experience with Hadoop, Spark, Flink, analytical databases, NoSQL databases, and time-series databases.
  • Preferred knowledge of security and compliance practices, chaos engineering tools, and GameDay exercises.
  • Open-source contributions and cloud certifications in AWS, Azure, or GCP are preferred.
