Base Salary
$207k - $258k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build payment platform capabilities including orchestration, risk and fraud, and multi-provider support.
- Build a global bill payment product to help small businesses manage cash flow.
- Develop reliable, scalable, secure, and high-throughput platform services.
- Make foundational architectural decisions and deliver proof-of-concepts and production code.
- Set technical direction, mentor engineers, and foster an inclusive engineering culture.
- Integrate and champion AI capabilities to improve engineering productivity and developer workflows.
- Collaborate with product, security, risk, operations, and design teams to translate business needs into resilient engineering solutions.
- Maintain operational excellence and deliver direct business outcomes for a platform serving millions of subscribers.
Requirements
- Proven track record delivering highly available distributed backend systems and designing high-throughput services under real-world constraints.
- Deep understanding of system architecture, API design, and SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Proficiency with modern backend stacks such as C#, Java, Golang, or C++, and cloud-native platforms such as AWS.
- Strong technical leadership, mentoring, technical direction, and inclusive culture-building capabilities.
- Ability to break down complex problems into actionable solutions and drive execution.
- Strong cross-functional partnership skills with Product, Design, security, risk, operations, and other teams.
- Hands-on interest in contributing to production code, proof-of-concepts, and technical deep dives.
- Interest in applying advanced AI tools and practices to improve development workflows.
