Responsibilities
- Direct and contribute to a small team developing hardware emulators for aircraft flight electronics.
- Develop embedded systems that emulate sensors, actuators, and other aircraft peripheral devices.
- Build functional testing and fault injection capabilities for flight electronics.
- Create modular, maintainable, and well-documented software architectures.
- Translate complex system requirements into emulation software requirements.
- Analyze code in complex systems and distill relevant information effectively.
- Collaborate with Systems Engineering, Flight Physics, Simulation, FPGA Development, Electrical Engineering, Automation, Flight Software, Software Verification, and Certification teams.
- Use schematics, datasheets, and hardware design documents to develop software.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, computer engineering, mechatronics, or a similar field, with 7+ years of industry experience; an advanced degree with 5+ years of industry experience will also be considered.
- At least 2 years of experience leading an embedded engineering development team.
- Expert knowledge of C++.
- Expert knowledge of object-oriented programming and multi-layered system architectures.
- Experience with communication protocols including I2C, CAN, SPI, and UART.
- Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, voltmeters, and similar test and measurement equipment.
- Ability to develop software from board schematics, datasheets, and hardware design documents.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git.
- Basic familiarity with Python.
- Experience with safety-critical embedded systems is preferred.
- Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and hardware-in-the-loop testing is preferred.
- Experience with DO-178C or a similar assured software development process is preferred.

- Target base pay is $139,500 - $224,400 per year.
