Responsibilities
- Implement software pipelines for calibrating sensor intrinsic and extrinsic parameters across vehicles with different sensor configurations.
- Design processes for calibration lifecycle management, deployment, data collection, processing, and evaluation.
- Collaborate across teams and contribute to Applied Intuition’s core calibration algorithm team.
- Build offline factory or lab calibration and online calibration that accounts for sensor variation caused by temperature and operating conditions.
- Enable sensor fusion across Camera, Lidar, Radar, IMU, GNSS, and other sensors.
- Design user-friendly calibration procedures and expose online calibration status through HMI integration.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience building software components or subsystems that address practical engineering challenges.
- Hands-on experience with a domain-relevant algorithm, software framework, or tool, such as calibration, middleware, benchmarking suites, datasets and related pipelines, or algorithmic libraries.
- Expertise in C++ and/or Python.
- Ability to learn new technical tools quickly and work as a self-starter.
- An MSc in calibration, state estimation, optimization, or a closely related field is preferred.
- Understanding of calibration concepts, world representations and transforms, optimization, perception and state-estimation intersections, and sensor noise characteristics is preferred.
- Experience with offline and online calibration algorithms, early and late-stage sensor fusion for state estimation, inertial and perception sensors, and production systems is preferred.
- Experience building and shipping software frameworks or tools used by people beyond their authors is preferred.
Benefits
- In-office work is expected 5 days per week, with occasional remote-work flexibility.
- Benefits may include equity, health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, a 401(k) with employer match, learning and wellness stipends, and paid time off.
