Base Salary
$180k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Implement software pipelines for calibrating intrinsic and extrinsic sensor parameters across vehicles with different sensor configurations.
- Design calibration lifecycle, deployment, data collection, processing, and evaluation processes.
- Collaborate across teams and contribute to the core calibration algorithm team.
- Build offline factory/lab calibration and online calibration for sensor variation caused by temperature and operating conditions.
- Enable sensor fusion across cameras, lidar, radar, IMUs, GNSS, and other sensors.
- Design user-friendly calibration procedures and expose online calibration status through HMI integration.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience building software components or subsystems for practical engineering challenges.
- Hands-on experience with a relevant algorithm, software framework, or tool, such as calibration, middleware, benchmarking suites, datasets and related pipelines, or algorithmic libraries.
- Expertise in C++ and/or Python.
- Willingness to learn, self-start, and become comfortable with new technical tools quickly.
- Passion for applying software development expertise to real-world autonomous systems.
- Preferred: MSc in calibration, state estimation, optimization, or a closely related field.
- Preferred: Understanding of calibration concepts, world representations and transforms, optimization, perception and state estimation, and sensor noise characteristics.
- Preferred: Hands-on experience with offline and online calibration algorithms and early and late-stage sensor fusion for state estimation.
- Preferred: Understanding of inertial and perception sensors, industry solutions, and production-system approaches.
- Preferred: Experience building and shipping software frameworks or tools used by people beyond their authors.
