Responsibilities
- Collaborate with ODM/JDM partners throughout robotics product development, validation, and launch.
- Review software designs, technical proposals, and implementation plans, and drive requirement clarification, risk assessment, and issue resolution.
- Investigate system-level issues across software, hardware, sensors, algorithms, and integration using testing, debugging, validation, and root-cause analysis.
- Drive improvements in robot reliability, robustness, performance, maintainability, and product quality.
- Define, implement, optimize, and validate autonomous robot behaviors including navigation, localization, obstacle avoidance, sensing, planning, and control.
- Support integration, validation, production readiness, field issue investigations, corrective actions, project planning, and technical decision-making.
- Provide technical guidance across software, hardware, perception, QA, test, product, and operations teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in robotics, autonomous systems, embedded systems, or software engineering.
- Strong programming skills in C++ and Python, plus experience with Linux development, software debugging, system integration, and software architecture.
- Experience in robotics software development, mobile robots or autonomous systems, navigation and localization, SLAM and sensor fusion, robot control systems, behavior trees or state machines, or ROS/ROS2.
- Strong system-thinking, analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills across software, hardware, sensors, and algorithms.
- Experience working with ODM/JDM partners, suppliers, or external development teams is highly desirable.
- Basic understanding of robotics perception, computer vision, sensors, and machine learning concepts.
- Strong English reading and writing skills and basic spoken English for technical discussions and project reviews.
