Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, debug, and optimize robotics software using modern C++.
- Develop autonomous robot behaviors for navigation, obstacle avoidance, task execution, area coverage, and recovery.
- Implement and support localization, planning, control, sensor integration, navigation, SLAM, sensor fusion, and robot control capabilities.
- Contribute to behavior trees, state machines, autonomy frameworks, software architecture, code reviews, and software quality improvements.
- Investigate system-level issues across software, hardware, sensors, and algorithms through debugging, data analysis, testing, validation, and root-cause analysis.
- Support field issue investigations, product validation, software integration, system validation, and production readiness.
- Collaborate with perception, controls, hardware, QA, test, product, ODM/JDM partners, and external suppliers.
- Participate in technical reviews, design discussions, project planning, and the full software development lifecycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in robotics, autonomous systems, embedded software, or related software engineering domains.
- Strong C++ programming skills and working proficiency in Python.
- Experience with Linux development and debugging, multithreaded and concurrent software, object-oriented design, software architecture, performance optimization, and Git-based workflows.
- Hands-on experience with robotics software, mobile robots or autonomous systems, navigation and localization, SLAM and sensor fusion, robot control systems, behavior trees or state machines, and ROS/ROS2.
- Ability to deliver software features from concept through product deployment and balance technical, product, performance, quality, and schedule constraints.
- Understanding of robotics perception fundamentals, including computer vision, OpenCV, camera/LiDAR/IMU sensors, object detection, classification, and sensor data processing.
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, root-cause analysis, system engineering, English reading, and technical collaboration skills.
- Experience with ODM/JDM partners or external development teams is preferred.
