Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, and delivery of distributed cloud-native backend applications supporting high concurrency and real-time data needs.
- Develop scalable data pipelines, streaming analytics, and integrations for ML/AI workflows.
- Collaborate with data science, product, and engineering teams to deliver intelligent product features.
- Set engineering standards for code quality, security, operational excellence, automation, and continuous improvement.
- Diagnose performance bottlenecks, address reliability risks, and evolve systems for scale.
- Decompose legacy systems into service-oriented and microservice architectures while resolving technical debt.
- Mentor engineers, review code and architectures, and provide technical direction.
- Own major initiatives end to end from planning through measurable impact.
Requirements
- 7+ years of strong backend development experience.
- Demonstrated expertise designing and operating large-scale distributed systems with cloud service-oriented architecture.
- Proven technical leadership in fast-paced environments, including setting standards and inspiring engineering teams.
- Mastery of Go for backend programming; Python, Java, or Ruby experience is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with distributed data platforms such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, and NoSQL systems.
- Experience building APIs, analytics and data infrastructure, and deploying ML algorithms in production.
- Strong communication and cross-team collaboration skills.
- Commitment to security, compliance, robust design, and scalable systems.
