Base Salary
$179k - $294k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead Temporal’s agent optimization efforts.
- Design and build agentic coding systems that deliver high-quality outputs.
- Develop optimization techniques for AI agents, including model routing, multi-agent architecture, cache policy, and context management.
- Own new features end to end and collaborate with other teams on reliability and developer experience.
- Maintain deep expertise in agentic coding and AI application development patterns.
- Serve as a domain expert and provide best practices and canonical examples to field staff.
- Work directly with the developer community to debug complex issues and gather feedback on Temporal features and APIs.
- Write public technical documentation for Temporal concepts and APIs.
- Provide occasional expert support to customers and attend periodic coworker meetings and optional developer conferences.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional work experience.
- Proven experience optimizing AI systems using machine learning and systems techniques.
- Experience with generative AI, particularly agents and coding applications.
- Fluency in multiple programming languages and willingness to learn new ones.
- Deep experience with concurrent programming, including mutexes, atomics, and other concurrency primitives.
- Experience designing APIs and documenting publicly available libraries or modules.
- Strong written and verbal technical communication skills in English.
- BS or MS in Computer Science or a closely related degree, or equivalent work experience writing production-grade software.
