Base Salary
$170k - $235k/yr
Responsibilities
- Address challenges involving data modeling, query compilation, and large-scale interactive analytics.
- Design, build, and maintain compiler infrastructure and intermediate representations that translate spreadsheet operations into optimized query plans.
- Apply optimization strategies to improve performance and accuracy across query workloads and data architectures.
- Contribute to backend systems in Rust and frontend foundations in TypeScript.
- Debug, analyze, and resolve complex issues to ensure robustness and maintainability.
- Collaborate on design and code reviews and drive technical best practices and architectural decisions.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience engineering high-quality software systems.
- Demonstrated success building and maintaining complex infrastructure or core platform services.
- Deep understanding of computer science fundamentals, especially compilers, algorithms, and SQL optimization.
- Experience working in an iterative, high-cadence environment.
- Exposure to distributed systems, query optimization, or database internals is preferred.
- Experience with API or data model design for high-performance cloud services is preferred.
- Familiarity with GCP, AWS, or Azure is preferred.
- Curiosity for new languages and tools, including Rust, Go, Node, Kubernetes, and GraphQL, is preferred.
