Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain secure and scalable backend services and APIs.
- Deliver complex projects end-to-end, from technical design to iteration based on production feedback.
- Build event-driven and asynchronous workflows using Kafka and queue-based systems.
- Own service reliability, including monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident response.
- Partner with Infrastructure/SRE to operate systems on AWS.
- Define and improve data access patterns across SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Implement caching strategies to reduce latency and manage load.
- Raise code quality through reviews, documentation, and setting testing standards.
Requirements
- 10+ years of backend engineering experience with production systems.
- Strong fundamentals in system design, API design, and data modeling.
- Experience working in AWS and understanding common infrastructure components.
- Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Hands-on experience with Kafka and message/queue systems.
- Practical knowledge of caching patterns using tools like Redis or Memcached.
- Strong observability practices, including structured logging and monitoring tools.
- A degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
