Responsibilities
- Maintain, refactor, and extend production AI applications and services for reinsurance business lines.
- Build agentic-friendly tools, services, and workflows used by LLM-based agents.
- Design AI workflows combining models, prompts, tools, enterprise data, and business logic.
- Validate model behavior, outputs, assumptions, reliability, scalability, cost, and latency.
- Design evaluation frameworks, test suites, human evaluation workflows, grounding checks, and quality checks for AI and agent behavior.
- Help bring new agentic systems into production while working with Product, Architecture, and Domain Delivery organizations.
- Direct agentic coding tools such as Claude Code, break work into scoped tasks, and review generated code.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering experience with a modern language such as Python, TypeScript, Java, or Kotlin.
- Experience with API, service, and integration engineering and the ability to improve an existing codebase.
- Familiarity with LLM application patterns including prompting, retrieval-augmented generation, and tool or function calling.
- Comfort working with agentic coding harnesses and in Linux and cloud environments.
- Experience with automated testing and production-quality software practices.
- A Forward Deployed Engineer mindset focused on understanding business problems and delivering pragmatic solutions.
- Exposure to Data Science methods for validating AI models.
- Hands-on agentic or LLM application development, including agent loops, evaluations, or tool design, is a strong plus.
- Experience with Palantir Foundry, AIP, insurance or reinsurance, or cloud AI services such as Azure AI is valued but not required.
