Base Salary
$179k - $246k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build a core agent framework that hosts specialized capabilities and reliably orchestrates subtasks.
- Define reusable agent-skill contracts covering API design, versioning, and composability.
- Build evaluation infrastructure to measure agent quality and detect regressions in nondeterministic outputs.
- Improve agent access to records and context using structured queries, catalogs, and semantic search.
- Ship secure, optimized, production-grade backend software and critically evaluate human- and AI-generated code.
- Maintain shared system context containing system designs, constraints, and engineering standards.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience designing and building large-scale distributed backend systems.
- Experience with API design, versioning, and systems used by multiple teams.
- Strong skills in at least one modern programming language and experience shipping production code.
- Ability to reason about ambiguous large-scale systems and communicate tradeoffs.
- Demonstrated AI-first engineering experience using tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, or Cursor.
- Advanced prompt-engineering skills and ability to write precise, structured prompts.
- Related technical degree.
