Responsibilities
- Build reliable, performant, and highly available cloud data systems for high-volume vehicle telemetry.
- Design extensible telemetry and data architectures that integrate diverse flight controller, vehicle, mission system, and sensor data sources.
- Deliver live telemetry streams and recorded data to cloud destinations and downstream analysis tools.
- Build cloud-native systems with edge-compatible capabilities for offline and air-gapped telemetry capture.
- Field data systems in classified environments.
- Partner with business-line engineering teams to understand data requirements and iteratively deliver solutions.
Requirements
- Experience with modern lakehouse architectures such as Iceberg and Delta Lake.
- Experience with ETL systems including Flyte, Dagster, Airflow, and Argo Workflows.
- Experience with distributed data processing engines such as Spark and Trino.
- Experience developing and operating high-throughput streaming data pipelines using technologies such as Spark Streaming, Flink, and Kafka.
- Strong proficiency in one or more of Python, Java, Rust, and Go; the team predominantly uses Python and Rust.
- Experience building and operating cloud systems with containerization and deployability technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, FluxCD, and ArgoCD.
- U.S. Person status is required to access export-controlled data.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret clearance is desirable.
