Base Salary

$82k - $206k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate requirements, propose solutions, and explore design tradeoffs.
  • Design algorithms and develop embedded software for resource-constrained real-time targets.
  • Analyze designs and execute software tests to verify performance, functionality, and requirements compliance.
  • Troubleshoot problems, identify root causes, and develop solutions for inefficient or faulty designs.
  • Contribute to requirements development, architecture ideation, and mitigation of program or system-level technical risks.
  • Communicate with customers and stakeholders about requirements, designs, and deliverables.
  • Prepare technical data, procedures, reports, drawings, manuals, and other documentation.
  • Take responsibility for a subset of the engineering scope and mentor less experienced engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • 5–10 years of experience in Software Engineering or a related field across the full software development lifecycle.
  • Experience developing and troubleshooting software on embedded targets and real-time systems.
  • Expertise with C, C++, or Rust and knowledge of operating-system coding techniques, IP protocols, interfaces, and hardware subsystems.
  • Experience with board bring-up, device drivers, compilers, make files, linker scripts, in-circuit emulators, JTAG debuggers, and laboratory test equipment.
  • Experience with software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, peer review processes, and UML/SysML.
  • Preferred experience designing and implementing a real-time operating system.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance; Secret clearance is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
