Responsibilities
- Provision and configure Amazon MSK clusters, Kafka topics, and schema registry.
- Configure and maintain Kafka Connect and Change Data Capture source connectors.
- Build REST-based event ingress with Amazon API Gateway and AWS Lambda for Salesforce events.
- Develop Java stream-processing applications and integration pipelines for transforming and delivering Kafka events.
- Implement dead letter queues and error-handling patterns for reliable event processing.
- Develop CI/CD pipelines, automated tests, and code coverage practices.
- Build and maintain AWS CloudFormation infrastructure for client deployment and operations.
- Collaborate within an Agile sprint process under the direction of the Lead Integration Architect.
- Create technical documentation and provide knowledge transfer to engineering and operations teams.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on Java development experience, including stream processing and API components.
- Professional experience building event-driven and Kafka-based systems, including Kafka clusters, topics, Kafka Connect, CDC, and Schema Registry.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services, serverless technologies, cloud integrations, and AWS CloudFormation.
- Experience building and supporting production-grade event-driven integration pipelines.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and code coverage.
- Comfort working in an Agile/sprint environment under a client architect's direction.
- Strong communication, technical documentation, and technical knowledge-transfer skills.
- Advanced written and verbal English communication skills.
- Experience with Salesforce CDC or Salesforce event integrations is a nice-to-have.
- Experience implementing dead letter queues and event-driven error-handling patterns is a nice-to-have.
