Responsibilities

  • Design and evolve API architecture, including contracts, versioning, security, and observability.
  • Break product features into technical tasks and actionable work.
  • Implement REST and/or gRPC APIs with unit, integration, and contract testing.
  • Lead or contribute to sprint planning and technical refinement.
  • Maintain DevOps pipelines, CI/CD, monitoring, and operational readiness.
  • Collaborate with Platform, Security, and Enterprise Architecture teams.
  • Mentor peers and raise the team’s technical standards.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks, dependencies, and technical debt.
  • Support incident resolution and root cause analysis.
  • Develop and take ownership of the API surface supporting domain applications.

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on experience as a .NET API developer.
  • Proven expertise designing, building, and consuming REST and/or gRPC APIs.
  • Deep knowledge of OpenAPI/Swagger, contract testing, API gateways, and API security best practices.
  • Experience with Azure or AWS, DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, and observability.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, including collaboration with DPO, Enterprise Architecture, and Security teams.
  • Awareness of security, privacy, and audit considerations for API data.
  • A strong background as a senior engineer or API specialist.
  • Experience delivering API-centric products in agile teams.
  • Proficiency with cloud platforms, modern architectures, and DevOps practices.
  • Ability to collaborate with Enterprise Architecture on standards.
  • Experience with interoperability standards, cross-domain integrations, regulatory or compliance environments, LIMS, enterprise SaaS, Docker, Kubernetes, or observability/APM solutions is desirable.
  • Spanish language skills are a plus.
