Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and design of complex frontend systems using modern frameworks and state management libraries.
- Optimize web application speed, scalability, Core Web Vitals, startup time, rebuffering, memory usage, rendering performance, errors, and engagement.
- Deliver seamless playback experiences across desktop browsers, mobile web, and Smart TV platforms including Tizen and webOS.
- Conduct code reviews and mentor junior and mid-level engineers on best practices and design patterns.
- Collaborate with Product Managers and UX Designers to turn wireframes into reusable, high-quality components.
- Integrate player interfaces with HTML5 video playback engines and technologies including MSE and EME.
- Build analytics and observability frameworks for startup time, buffering ratio, rebuffer frequency, bitrate changes, playback failures, and engagement.
- Debug and resolve production issues quickly while minimizing customer impact.
- Apply web security best practices covering XSS prevention, CSP, CORS, secure media playback, and DRM-related threats.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of professional modern web development experience.
- Expert knowledge of TypeScript, React, Next.js, and CSS-in-JS technologies such as styled-components or Tailwind.
- Deep hands-on experience with HTML5 video players and SDKs including Shaka Player, HLS.js, Video.js, and Dash.js.
- Expert knowledge of HLS and MPEG-DASH, including manifests, segmenting, DRM, and adaptive bitrate behavior.
- Hands-on experience with Webpack, Vite, and Rollup build systems.
- Experience with automated testing using Jest, React Testing Library, and Playwright.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Strong understanding of web security, video playback performance, analytics, observability, and production troubleshooting.
