Base Salary

$149k - $223k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead end-to-end security architecture for AI/ML platforms, products, training pipelines, inference infrastructure, model storage, and APIs.
  • Develop and maintain threat models covering AI-specific attack surfaces such as model poisoning, adversarial inputs, prompt injection, model inversion, and supply chain risks.
  • Lead high-impact design reviews and establish secure-by-default AI development standards.
  • Own the AI security roadmap and align it with product goals, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Serve as the technical authority for AI security decisions and mentor or influence engineering, product, research, platform, and data science teams.
  • Embed security controls across the model lifecycle from data ingestion through deployment and monitoring.
  • Drive zero-trust, least-privilege, and defense-in-depth adoption across AI infrastructure.
  • Translate AI regulations and governance frameworks into architectural requirements and partner with legal, privacy, and compliance teams.
  • Prepare security assessments, risk summaries, and mitigation plans for executives and stakeholders.
  • Represent the organization in customer security reviews, external forums, and industry working groups, and contribute to publications, open-source tooling, or speaking engagements.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in information security, including at least 5 years focused on cloud or platform architecture.
  • Deep hands-on expertise securing ML/AI systems, including LLMs, training pipelines, and model-serving infrastructure.
  • Experience with AI-specific threats including adversarial machine learning, data poisoning, model extraction, and prompt injection.
  • Proficiency in cloud security across AWS, Azure, or GCP, including IAM, network segmentation, secrets management, and audit logging.
  • Strong background in application security, cryptography, and secure software development lifecycle practices.
  • Experience leading architectural decisions in a large-scale engineering organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for explaining complex security risks to engineers and executives.
  • Familiarity with the NIST AI RMF is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or cloud security specializations are preferred.
  • Published research, conference talks, or open-source contributions in AI/ML security are preferred.
  • Must be willing and able to travel to and work onsite at client, temporary, or corporate office locations as business needs require.
