Responsibilities
- Design, build, maintain, and deploy efficient and reliable code for the Android application.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define and ship features.
- Ensure application performance, quality, responsiveness, and user experience.
- Review code, provide feedback, and mentor junior team members.
- Identify bottlenecks and bugs, develop solutions, and maintain code quality and organization.
- Write test cases, automation scripts, and profile mobile applications to address performance issues.
- Potentially broaden development work to include the iOS application.
Requirements
- 5–7 years of experience developing native Android applications using Kotlin, with a solid understanding of Java.
- Experience with Android frameworks including Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, and Hilt.
- Understanding of mobile architectural patterns such as MVVM and MVP.
- Experience working with RESTful APIs and back-end services.
- Experience with testing, test automation, and mobile application profiling.
- Proficiency with Git and familiarity with continuous integration and delivery tools.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Google Material Design principles, interface guidelines, and design tools such as Figma or Sketch.
- Experience using LLM tools such as Claude or ChatGPT is preferred.
- Bonus experience includes functional reactive programming, Android UI automation testing, payment providers such as Stripe or PayPal, and mobile application security best practices.
